Alpine Rock Improvers & Leading on Alpine Rock

8,9,10 July 2011. 2 spaces remaining. €965

This course is a more intensive focus on Alpine rock, with longer routes and slightly more technical climbing. And, it's every bit as fun as all the other courses (just a little more tiring).

For those who have had some experience on multi-pitch rock (or have been on Intro to Alpine Rock) and are comfortable seconding a French 5+ - F6a outdoors. You’ll not only climb some incredible classic routes but, if appropriate, you'll learn skills that will improve your own leading in the high mountain environment. You’ll learn about how and when to use natural protection, moving together, and subtle but important differences about gear placement and anchor set-ups in an alpine rock environment.

Not everyone wants to lead on this course, but if you want to, and already have some sound experience of leading trad, then we will make sure you get a chance to do so. If you do want to lead a bit, you’ll need to provide us with a list of your previous trad leads so that we can make sure we choose appropriate routes for you.

*This course must have a minimum of 2 climbers to run, fyi, so let us know if you would like us to co-ordinate with our other clients who are interested in this course to join you.
